DEAN MESSAGE

Dear Students,

Welcome to the School of Arts and Humanities at YBN University.
As quoted by the former President of India and reverend scientist Dr. APJ Kalam, “the purpose of education is to make good human beings with skill and expertise.” To achieve this goal, experienced, proficient, and adept subject experts in their respective fields have been appointed as faculty members in the School of Arts and Humanities.

Under the able guidance of experienced faculty, students of the school, in addition to the traditional methods like classroom teaching, develop curiosity and thoughtfulness through field visits, field surveys, model making, poster making, painting, and by participation in quizzes, exhibitions, sports, music, and drama. Continuously moving towards the overall development of creativity, team spirit, and personality.

We invite you to step into this new world, where arts education is not the last resort of students whose options have closed otherwise. This is a world where arts, humanities, and social sciences education opens up horizons that are newly being formed.

YBN University has fifteen faculties of study, which gives students enough freedom to choose the field of education. There is also an option for students to have a major in the field of choice and learn other courses from the different faculty of study on campus.

Students will learn the courses as interdisciplinary courses in music, dance, theatre, dharma studies, nature, modern Indian languages, classical Indian languages and international languages, fine arts, literature, and sports.

The journey of students in the University is not only rewarding in learning but also fulfilling and filled with joy.

I will conclude with the words of John Stuart Mill said in 1867: “Universities are not intended to teach the knowledge required to fit men for some special mode of making their livelihood. Our objective is not just to make skilful professionals, but capable and cultivated human beings…”
