Riya Kar is Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition, School of Paramedical Science, YBN University. She is an ICMR Junior Research Fellow and pursuing her Ph.D. in Nutrition at Vidyasagar
University, with research focused on marine fish oil and its role in obesity and metabolic disorders. A Gold Medalist in M.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics, she also holds a B.Ed. in Life Science and has qualified
for the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for her doctoral research. Her work has been published in high-impact journals including Adipocyte, Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, and
Physiological Reports. She has received multiple Best Paper and Best Poster awards at national and international conferences, including the NSI Prize at ICMR-NIN, Hyderabad. Her research interests
include Nutrition Science, Dietetics, Molecular Biology, and Functional Foods.
